Chuck Grausam, 80, peacefully entered into heaven while surrounded by his family after a 17 year battle with Parkinson's and most recently cancer.
There will be "ONE MORE CAST" at his celebration of life, held on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 4-8 pm at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary with a 4:00 p.m. rosary and continuing one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Saturday morning. Mass of Christian Burial will held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 11:00 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery with full military honors.
Chuck was born to Carl and Margaret (Nentl) Grausam on April 7, 1934 in Albany, MN. He graduated from Albany High School, enlisted in the military and was honorably discharged in 1957. Following his time in the service he attended St. John's University where he graduated with a BS in Biology and English.
Chuck was married to the love of his life, Marge Meyer from Melrose for 54 incredible years. He was an AVID FISHERMAN, enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, wood working, camping and sharing stories while sitting around the bon fire. Chuck taught his children many valuable life lessons, such as the value of family, hard work, love for each other, how to enjoy the outdoors, and faithfulness to God. He also enjoyed spending time with his 11 grandchildren fishing, camping, sharing his candy, attending their sporting events, and joking around to make them laugh.
Chuck is survived by his wife Marge, there six children, Charlie (Sue Schlosser) Eagle Lake, MN; Bruce (Juliann) Chanhassen, MN; Nancy (John Podolinsky) Helena, Montana; Tom (Becky) Brainerd, MN; Dave (Ami) Brainerd, MN; and Mick (Jo Ann Radlinger) North Mankato, MN. His 11 grandchildren, Nathan, Sarah, Sam, Emily, Rachel, Whitney, Walker, Nicholas, Madison Grausam and Megan and Matt Podolinsky. Sisters Hazel Nau and Mary Ann Grausam. Chuck was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Val (Buddy) and Bob Grausam, Aunts, Uncles, one nephew and his precious dog Patsy.
