Edith L. Ahlstrom, age 86, of North Mankato, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System " Mankato.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Northview " North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. Visitation will be held from 1:00 " 2:30 p.m., Sunday at Northview. Interment will be in Kern's Oak Grove Cemetery, rural North Mankato. Memorials may be given to the American Legion Post 518 of North Mankato.

Edith was born October 9, 1927 to George and Pearl (Jacobson) Buss in Mankato. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1945. Edith was united in marriage to Kenneth Ahlstrom on September 6, 1947. Edith worked at the Kato Ballroom for over 20 years selling tickets and later for Like Nu Cleaners of North Mankato as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the VFW Post 950 Auxiliary and American Legion Post 518.

Edith is survived by her daughter, Judy (Steve) Betchwars of Plymouth and her children, Andrew and Kyle Higgins; daughter, Patsy (Kenneth) Lang of North Mankato and her children, Megan (Paul) Peterson, Samuel and Benjamin Lang; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Jackson, and Gabrielle Peterson, Carter Lang; brother, Robert (Mary) Buss of San Antonio, TX; special friends, Marlene Roede and Barry Johnson; several nieces and nephews.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth in 1997; son-in-law, Mark Higgins; siblings, Isabelle Wolle, Dorothy Pfeffer, and Russell Buss.
