Grace P. Schubbe, age 98, of Mankato, died on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Cedar Haven in Mankato, where she resided for the last two years. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Hosanna Lutheran Church with Rev. Dennis Heiden officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 9-11 at the church. Burial will be in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in St. Clair. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Grace was born on August 20, 1915 in Sterling Township to Sidney and Hattie (Richter) Annis. Grace graduated from Mapleton High School in 1933. On February 25, 1939, Grace was united in marriage to Wesley Schubbe in Mapleton at the church parsonage. She worked at Madsen's Grocery in Mankato for several years. Grace enjoyed baking, cooking, reading, hardanger, and watching the Minnesota Twins. She loved spending time with her family.

Grace is survived by her daughter, Sally Fjelstad of Mankato; son, Richard (Eileen Larson) of Wells; grandchildren, Perry (Ronda) Mortensen of Pemberton, Pam (Keith) Deike of Waseca, and Deb (Andy) Stenzel of Alden; step-grandchildren, Kim Bebler, Chris Fjelstad, Jeff Baumann, and Lori Conroy; great-grandchildren, Jason (Nicky) Davis, Justin and Dylan Mortensen, Jake and Max Deike, and Emma (Alex) Pederson; special great-great-granddaughter, Gracie; sister-in-law, Audrey Annis; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters; four brothers; son-in-law, David Fjelstad; daughters-in-law, Carole Schubbe and Judy Schubbe.

The family would like to thank Grace's caregivers at Cedar Haven for the wonderful care they provided.
