Funeral Service for Arlen D. Lade, age 75, of North Mankato will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, North Mankato. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at the church on Thursday. Private interment will be held in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato.
Arlen was born January 9, 1939 to August and Mabel (Ziemann) Lade in Brownton on the family farm. He was the ninth of eighteen children born to August and Mabel. Arlen graduated from Stewart High School in 1957. For forty years, Arlen was a member of the 464 Carpenter's Union. He was proud of his work and taught others, "To take pride in what you do." He was always available to help anyone with their projects. Arlen was a man who loved people; whether it was shooting the breeze with friends and neighbors, sitting around the campfire, or playing league softball and bowling. Above all, Arlen loved his family and his beloved dog, Gigi. He married Peggy on September 4, 1971 in Watertown, S.D. His family surrounded him as he peacefully died Saturday, July 5, 2014 at his home.
He will be missed by his wife, Peggy of North Mankato; children, Melanie (Troy) Schmidt, Daniel Larson, Barry (Debbie) Lade, Brad Lade, and Brenda (Otto) Roneker; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, sisters, Delores Rath, Marilyn Timm, Diane Molenaar, Darcee (Chuck) Wittke, Koni (Paul) Fank; brothers, Eugene (Caroline) Lade, Eldor (Carol) Lade, Dennis (Linda) Lade, Kenneth (Sherry) Lade, Grant (Diane) Lade, Daryl (Judie) Lade, Terry Lade, Kim Lade.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ralph, Loren and Larry.
