Leah Russ, age 89 of Nicollet, died Monday, October 10, 2011 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.

Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Mankato Mortuary. A private family burial will be held at Vernon Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Leah Russ was born October 24, 1921 to Aaron and Augusta (Arndt) Morris in Vernon Center, MN. She married Lloyd Russ September 14, 1940 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Vernon Center, where she was also baptized and confirmed.

Leah and Lloyd farmed in the Garden City area and she was employed by Madsen's, S&L, and The Dotson Co. as bookkeeper. She was an active volunteer with RSVP. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, crocheting, baseball and football.

Leah is survived by one daughter, Gay Edwards of Nicollet; two sons, Tony (special friend Lois Schweim) Russ of Mankato, Gregory (Carol) of Lake Crystal; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one great-grandchild.
