Ruth Therese Yaeger, age 96, of Mankato died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the Benedictine Living Community, St. Peter.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 3, 2011 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Mankato with Rev. Paul Lauer, officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Monday at church. Memorials may be given to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or donor's choice. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth was born June 20, 1915 to August and Ida (Enter) Thom in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County, Minnesota. She was baptized and later confirmed on March 24, 1929 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Nicollet by Rev. F. Koehler. Ruth attended Nicollet parochial school and Nicollet High School. She was united in marriage to Kenneth E. Yaeger on November 13, 1941 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nicollet. They lived in Rapidan until moving to Mankato in 1946, then to Rochester in 1948, and then returning to Mankato. While in Rochester Ruth worked in sales in women's clothing. Ruth was employed for many years with Snow Photography and later Ron Anderson Photography. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Ruth and Kenneth enjoyed traveling in their motor home for many years. Ruth also enjoyed collecting dolls and spending time with her family.

Ruth is survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth on June 15, 2008; one sister, Frieda; six brothers, Alfred, Carl, August Jr., Fred, Walter, and Hugo; in-laws, Walter and Anna Yaeger and Evelyn Schaub.
