James Rogers, age 47 of Mankato, died Monday, September 26, 2011 at Laurel's Peak in Mankato.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at North Mankato Mortuary " Northview Chapel, with Rev. Neil Westby officiating. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

James Frederick Rogers, son of James and Debbie Rogers, was born March 26, 1965 in Taipei, Taiwan. He graduated from Janesville High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force. He married Peggy Rogers on September 9, 1995 in Plattsburgh, New York. James served in the Air Force for 12 years, and later began work with the Union Pacific Railroad, eventually becoming Yardmaster. He also worked for several years at Kendell Doors with his son, Jeremy. He was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Eagle Lake. James was a family man and loved spending time with his wife and kids.

James is survived by his wife, Peggy; 3 sons, Jeremy (Sarah) Alford of Prior Lake, Jamey Alford of Plattsburgh, NY, Jessey Rogers of Mankato; grandson, Gavin and one more future grandchild; parents, James and Debbie Rogers; sister, Michelle (Tom) Behsman; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fredrick and Martha Rogers.
