Viola M. Miller, age 74, of Mankato died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Oaklawn Health Care Center, Mankato.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, rural Mankato with Rev. Collette Broady Preiss, officiating. Burial will be in Decoria Cemetery, rural Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Thursday.
Viola was born April 2, 1937 to Ralph and Clara (Watts) Lotton in Mankato. On June 7, 1958, she was united in marriage to Wallace "Wally" Miller in Mankato. Viola was an involved member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was a caregiver all of her life. Viola always cared for others, thought of them when she was shopping, and was always on time. She enjoyed having coffee with Roger and the guys and loved going to the lake.
Viola is survived by her two step-children: Linda (Galen) Erdman and Steve (Linda) Miller; four grandchildren: Brent Erdman, Jenise (Scott) Peterson, Troy Miller, and Jayme Miller; five great-grandchildren: Taryn Clayton, Ayden Peterson, Emery Erdman, Tegan Miller, and Jaydon Miller; three siblings: Barbara Goettl, Cyril (JoAnne) Lotton, and Lenore (Bernie) Schnobrich; brother-in-law: Roger (Peggy) Miller; sister-in-law: Dorothy Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wally; and eight siblings-in-law.
