Paul R. Hadley Jr., age 91 of North Mankato, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at his home.

Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 4, 2011 at St. John Episcopal Church in Mankato with Rev. Paul Rider officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation for Paul will be held Saturday, September 3, 2011 at North Mankato Mortuary - NORTHVIEW from 4 " 6 p.m., and one hour before services on Sunday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Habitat for Humanity or the Echo Food Shelf.

Paul was born of American parents while they were traveling in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada on May 9, 1920. He was a 1938 graduate of Sandy Creek High School in New York and a 1948 graduate of Ithaca College also in New York. Paul served his country in the US Navy during World War II in both the European and Pacific Theatres.

Paul was united in marriage to Alice Churchill in Berea, Kentucky, on November 25, 1942. They moved to Mankato in 1969 where he served as VP and General Manager of Kayot Corporation Marine Division in 1969-70. Executive VP of the Mankato Area Chamber of Commerce from 1970-1977, and VP of Development at Taylor Corporation in North Mankato from 1977 to 1988 when he retired.

Through the years Paul served on the Boards of the following: Nicollet County Fair, Region-9 Development Commission, Mankato Area Foundation, Mankato Symphony Orchestra, Mankato Rotary Club, ACT-200, Mankato Airport Commission, Minnesota Vocational Education Governor's Advisory Council, Minnesota Jobs and Training Dept's Planning and Evaluation Committee, the South Central Minnesota Private Industry Council, the Mankato United Way for over 20 years. He was honored at Minnesota Senior Citizen of the Year and KEYC-TV Jefferson Award. Paul Volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, AARP as Tax and Drive " 55 Programs Counselor, VINE, Summit Center and his church.

Paul Hadley Jr., is survived by his wife, Alice of North Mankato; four children, Anne Cecil of Stanton, KY, Paul R. (Nancy) Hadley III of Charleston, SC, Dr. Patricia (Michael) Vermeersch of Akron, OH, Kim (Patrick) Irving of Denver, CO; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and brother, George Hadley of El Paso, TX.

Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joan Perry.
