Alice M. Stokes, age 66 of Lake Crystal, died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Mayo Health Systems in Mankato.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September, 1, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. John Wilmot officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Madelia. Visitation will be from 5 " 8 p.m., Wednesday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and continue one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Alice was born June 28, 1945 to Max and Belva (Harris) Lewis in Monmouth, IL. She moved to Minnesota with her family when she was two. She graduated from Cleveland High School. After high school she married Dennis Anderson in Mankato. She was a homemaker for a short time before working at Tony Down in Madelia, Mankato Plating, and Immanuel " St. Joseph Hospital where she worked for 21 years in the laundry and then in Surgery.

Alice married William Stokes on May 7, 1988 in Madelia. They made their home in Lake Crystal. She was a member of Holy Family, American Legion Auxiliary and ASME 1856. Alice enjoyed camping with William, reading, crafts, writing and getting together with family and friends.

Alice is survived by her husband, William; two daughters, Cynthia (Jim) Lawrence, Lee (Jeff) Ludvick both of Mankato; two sons, Butch (Pam) Anderson of Mankato, LeRoy (Wanda) Anderson of Good Thunder; four sisters, Eleanor (Denny) Ford of Modesto, CA, Evelyn (Don) Adams of Mankato, Janet (John) Foster of Galesburg, IL, Levina (Kenny) Smock of Ankenny, IA; one brother, Marvin (Cindy) Lewis of Monmouth, IL; five granddaughters, Danielle Anderson and her fianc"e, Jeff Vaughan of Pemberton, Jacquelyn (Michael) Branscome of LeMorre, CA, LeShelle Anderson of Blue Earth, Alyssa Ludvik and special friend, Corey Black, Kelsey Ludvik both of Mankato; five great grandchildren, Lianna, Lucas, Ryan, Riley and Kailynn; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Grace Anderson, one brother, Clifford Lewis, grandson LeRoy Anderson Jr.
