Lorraine McGuire, age 84 of Mankato, died Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at the Mayo Clinic Health System " Mankato.

Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato, with Fr. John Kunz officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Lorraine Mardell McGuire was born February 19, 1927 to Elmer and Gina (Austinson) Blocker in Farmington, MN. She graduated from high school in Northfield and later attended Mankato Commercial College. She married Robert McGuire on December 17, 1946 in St. Peter. Lorraine worked as a bookkeeper for LaVogue and Thompson clothing stores in Mankato. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and she volunteered at Oaklawn Health Care Center. Lorraine loved to golf and bowl in her earlier years, and most recently enjoyed watching game shows, going to the casino, visiting with people, gardening, and playing BINGO with the residents at Oaklawn.

Lorraine is survived by 6 children, Janice (Jerry) Terrell, Kevin (Debby) McGuire, Mary (Buck) Mason, Bob (Robin) McGuire, Laurie (Dave) Schuh, Kelly McGuire; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and brother, Erv Blocker of Lakeville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 2009; and her parents.
