Corinne Davey, age 82 of Mankato, died Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.
A Memorial Service will be held 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Bethel Baptist Church in Mankato, with Rev. David Banfield officiating. Visitation will be Monday, August 22 from 5-8 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary, and will continue one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Mankato. Memorials preferred to the Bethel Baptist Church camping program.
Corinne Dorothy Davey was born May 10, 1929 in Mankato to Jonas and Dorothy (Davidson) Johnson. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1947 and completed one year of business college. Corinne married Ralph Davey on September 3, 1948 in Mankato. She was a homemaker for most of her life and also worked for the Harry Meyering Center in Mankato for several years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, White Shrine, and the Bethel Baptist Church. Corinne had the "gift of hospitality". She extended her loving and caring nature through her talents of sewing and cooking.
Corrine is survived by 7 children, Bernard (Pam) of Eagle Lake, Jeanette (Richard) Ostendorf of Pemberton, Kenneth (Cathi) of Lake Crystal, Daryl of Arkansas, Roger (Brenda) of Mankato, Gwen (Jim) Hallquist of Dassel, Allen (Diane) of Maple Grove; sister, Joyce Borneke of Mankato; brother, Harold Johnson of Mankato; 11 grandchildren, Chad, Jeffrey (Heather), Desiree (Matt), Paul (Marisa), Karin, Jamie, Amanda, Jonas, Lauren, Taylor, Brianna; 4 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Deegan, Lillian, Kamryn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her parents; brother, Welford "JJ" Johnson; sister, LaVonne Murray.
