Darrin Lee Habinger, age 42, of Phoenix, AZ passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 4, 2011 surrounded by his family & friends following an ATV accident.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at North Mankato Mortuary - NORTHVIEW in North Mankato. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at North Mankato Mortuary - NORTHVIEW. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato, MN.

Darrin was born April 29, 1969 in Mankato, MN to John R. Habinger and Diane (Comstock) Mell. He graduated from Mankato East High School in 1987. He worked at various jobs, including a car salesman in the St. Peter area. In 1990 his son Dameon Habinger was born. In 1997 Darrin moved to Phoenix, AZ where he worked at Jett Performance Marine as a jet boat mechanic. Darrin enjoyed being outdoors boating, camping and going to the sand dunes to drive sand rails. He enjoyed racing jet boats and was proud to win the River Racer class. Darrin also liked to laugh and have fun with family and friends either hanging out at home, on the beach, or at the river doing a BBQ. He enjoyed life and his family to the fullest.

Darrin is survived by his son Dameon of Phoenix, AZ, father John R. Habinger of Cave Creek, AZ, mother Diane (John) Mell of Mankato, MN brothers & sisters Christine (Robert) Habinger-Lyman of Phoenix, AZ; John (Pam) Habinger of North Mankato, MN; Julie Halvorson of Garretson, SD; Lynn Habinger of Phoenix, AZ; and step-sister Kim (Mike) Wobbrock of Ottawa, MN; nieces & nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends, including his dogs Scooby & Scrappy.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John P. & Evadine L. Habinger & Allen M. & Maxine M. Comstock, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his very special dog Thunder.
