Dolores Mae Mead, age 82, of Mankato died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 8, 2011 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Mankato with Rev. Paul Lauer, officiating. Visitation will be one hour before service at church on Monday. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Dolores was born February 10, 1929 to Gerald and Agnes (Sauck) Malcolm in Fairmont, MN. She graduated from Fairmont High School in 1948 and attended Mankato State Teacher's College. On January 6, 1951, she was united in marriage to John E. Mead. They later divorced. Dolores was a manager of the Mankato Inn Towne Restaurant and Motel and later a secretary for the Teamsters Union until retirement. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and Solo Parents, and volunteered delivering for Meals on Wheels. Dolores enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with her many friends. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her family.

Dolores is survived by her four children: Diane (Carlos) Mead Roque of Cedar Rapids, IA, Gabrielle Mead of Mankato, David (Lynda) Mead of Mankato, and Peter (Lisa) Mead of Vernon Center; ten grandchildren: Olivia Roque, George (Christine) Zettles, Robert Zettles, Michael Zettles, Ann Mead, Geoff (Kelsey) Mead, Lauren Mead, Sara Mead, Mitchell (Tara) Hansen, and Timothy Hansen; four great-grandchildren: Natalie Zettles, Lily Mead, Brenna Hansen, and Colton Hansen; and two brothers: Roland "Red" (Lucia Adams) Malcolm and Barry (Judy) Malcolm and their children.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, MaryBeth Hansen, in 2006.
