Victor Alan Beahm died at home in Mankato, MN early Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the age of 58 after a three year battle with cancer.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday December 10 at St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with Rev. Tim Biren officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 " 7 p.m., Monday, December 9 at Northview " North Mankato Mortuary 2060 Commerce Drive in North Mankato. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church. Burial will take place on Wednesday December 11 at Ft. Snelling in Minneapolis, MN. The burial will be a closed service reserved for family. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Al is survived by his children Aaron and Emily Beahm of Mankato, MN, their mother Judy Beahm of Mankato, MN, his mother Margaret Beahm of Idaho Falls, ID, brothers Doug Beahm of Idaho Falls, ID and Paul Beahm of Rigby, ID. and a sister Linda Rohweder of Idaho Falls, ID.
He was preceded in death by his father David Beahm and a sister Diane Bronson of Idaho Falls, ID. He was born on November 21, 1955 in Jerome, ID. He lived and grew up in Idaho Falls, ID until he enlisted in the Marine Corps at the age of 18. He served 3 years in the Marine Corps during which he spent the majority of his time stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in Havelock, NC. After he was discharged from the Marine Corps he moved to Mankato, MN and married Judy on July 22, 1978, which is where he resided until his death. "Al", as he was better known by his friends and family was a fun loving man of the community. He was an enthusiastic hockey player and fan along with an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter. He cherished his time with friends and family and will be missed by all.
