Ellen Berger

Ellen C. Berger, age 94 of Mankato formerly of Rapidan, died Monday, December 1, 2003 at Hillcrest Health Care Center.

Funeral services 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Lutheran Church, Rapidan, with Rev. William Meiers officiating. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services at church on Thursday.

Ellen was born September 14, 1909 in Rapidan Township, Blue Earth Co. to Ole and Anna (Anderson) Berger. She graduated from Rapidan High School as valedictorian in 1927. She worked as a sales person at Bretts Dept Store for many years. She was also a homemaker and member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Rapidan. Ellen also had been a member of the Church Choir for 52 years. She enjoyed gardening, reading and cooking.

She is survived by a niece and her husband, Frances and Lowell Medin of Palatine, IL; great nephew and his wife, James and Andrea Medin of Buffalo Grove, IL; great niece Kimberly Francke and her husband, Wayne, of Island Lake, IL; great great nieces, Michelle Francke, Brooke Medin and Melissa Medin. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and an infant brother.
