Juanita M. Victery, age 88 of Mankato formerly of Miller Beach, Gary IN, died Monday, December 1, 2003 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital, Mankato. She was known to everyone as Grandma Nee Nee and had a smile for everyone.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Rev. Ted Hottinger, S.J. Interment in Calumet Park Cemetery in Merriville, IN
Visitation is one hour before services at the church on Tuesday. If so desired, memorials may be given to the School Sisters of the Notre Dame, Mankato. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Juanita was born February 2, 1915 in Martinsville, IN. She was united in marriage to Isaac R. Victery on February 1, 1935 in Crown Point, IN. Isaac died December 19, 1973. Juanita worked for AMP Corp. in Gary IN for 25 years as head bookkeeper. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Mankato. She enjoyed reading, watching television, sunsets and love of people were her hobbies. She did volunteer work at Good Counsel in Mankato.
She is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Geller and her son Jason both of rural Mankato; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Melbourne Beach, FL; grandchildren, Rhonda Victery-Brown and her husband Colin Brown of Pensacola, FL, Eva Evans and Hope Victory of Portage, IN, Isaac Victery of Lake Station, IN, Angela Victery and special friend, John Donovan of Denver, CO, Jackie Geller of Spokane, WA; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac, a son, Robert R. Victery.
