Mauritz Olson

Mauritz E. Olson, age 81, of Lake Crystal, and formerly of Bloomington and Dawson, Minnesota, died unexpectedly November 19, 2003 in Branson, Missouri.

Memorial services 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2003 at Mankato Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Nancy Dreier officiating. Visitation one hour before services at Mankato Mortuary on Saturday.

Mauritz was born November 6, 1922 to Elmer and Ida (Kuno) Olson in Wakefield, Nebraska. He married Pearl Ruth Sampson on May 29, 1943. He retired from the Volp Construction Company where he was a job superintendent. He built his own retirement home for him and his wife at the age of 68. He took great pride in the many projects he built around his home over the years. He also enjoyed golfing and boating.

He is survived by his children, Marcus and wife Carole (Lunde) of Glendale, AZ; Scott of Hayward, WI; Cynthia Broin and husband Mark of Minnetonka, MN; 6 grandchildren, Brian and wife Stephanie (Wahl), Steffany and husband Rick Schroeder Jr., all of Phoenix, AZ; Christopher, Matthew, Alexandra, and Elizabeth Broin, all of Minnetonka, MN; sister, Agnus Carlson of Dawson, MN; brother-in-law, Glenn Sampson and wife, Priscilla of Plymouth, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Vernon, and his wife of 55 years, Pearl
