Joyous N. Clausen, age 93, of Mankato, died Tuesday, November 4, 2003, at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2003, at Medo Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Mapleton, with Rev. John H. Hagen officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday at Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Medo Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Medo Cemetery Association.
Joyous was born on June 8, 1910, in Pemberton, to Alick and Anna (Oftedahl) Guddal. She was a 1928 graduate of Pemberton High School. Joyous was united in marriage to Kenneth Casey Clausen on June 4, 1935 at the Medo Lutheran Church Parsonage. Over the years, she was employed as an elevator operator with Salets Department Store, and also helped Kenneth with his trucking and bus driving business. Joyous was a member of Medo Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Mankato Moose Lodge. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, golf, playing cards, and spending time with her family.
Joyous is survived by her son, Jerry Clausen and his fianc, Nancy Jaeger, of Mankato; two grandsons, Doug Clausen of Mankato, Darrin Clausen and his fianc, Theresa Delgado, of North Mankato; two great granddaughters, Mikhayla Clausen and Megan Delgado; Nancys children, Lance Jaeger and his wife, Sara, of Norwood, Brent Jaeger and his special friend, Sarah Tietz, of Belle Plaine, Dana Ziegler and his wife, Shelly, of Vernon Center; Nancys grandchildren, Lacey Alders, Taylor and Logan Ziegler, and Chase Emmers; sister-in-law, Margaret Mastain of Bill Gardens, CA; special friend and care giver, Joey Heilman of Mankato.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; one infant daughter; two sisters and one brother.
