Frank Reedstrom

Frank G. Reedstrom, age 101 of Mankato and formerly of Rapidan, died Monday, October 27, 2003 at the Mankato Lutheran Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. Joel Erickson officiating. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Rapidan. Visitation will be held from 4 " 7 p.m., Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services at the church on Friday. Memorials may be given to the Mankato Lutheran Home.

Mr. Reedstrom was born March 6, 1902 to Charles and Eva (Nelson) Reedstrom in Rapidan. He was united in marriage to Lydia A. Kriel on June 9, 1926 in Olivia, MN. He farmed in Rapidan Township and operated a dairy, delivering to Rapidan and Mankato. Frank harvested and delivered ice. He also did custom trucking and drove school bus for many years. Mr. Reedstrom was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he was also a former board member. He was a member of the Rapidan Sportsman Club and active on the town board. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and his grandchildren.

Frank is survived by three daughters, Shirley Winter and husband, Herman Guse of Janesville, Lorraine Riffel and husband, Sam of Beaverton, OR, Joan Yabitsu and husband, Chet of Agoura, CA; four sons and their wives, Marlin and Charmaine of Eden Prairie, MN, Lowell and Sharon of North Mankato, Dale and Janice of Evans, GA, Bob and Virginia of Prescott, WI; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by his wife, infant son, infant grandchild; three sisters, and two brothers.
