Paul Henry Stelter, age 51, of St. Peter, died on July 27, 2009 at his residence in St. Peter.

Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mankato with Rev. Paul Nolting officiating. Burial will be at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in Mankato following the service. Visitation will be held Friday, July 31 from 4-8 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church and will continue one hour before service at church on Saturday. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Paul was born December 16, 1957 in Brainerd, MN to Henry and Helen (Fennern) Stelter. He had a long career in law enforcement and EMS. He was employed as director for the South Central EMS as well as the City of Arlington as a police officer. Paul was a board member of the North Central Coop and the Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato. He served on the church council several times, on the board of education, the cemetery board, and was a youth counselor and girls basketball coach, as well as serving on many other boards and committees. Paul enjoyed reading, fishing, cars, volunteering his time and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed his time with his grandchildren.

Paul is survived by his children: Nathan (Tina) Stelter of Mankato; Joshua Stelter of Grand Prairie, TX; Meghan Stelter of St. Peter; two grandchildren: Samantha and Brooklyn of Mankato; his mother: Helen Stelter of Mankato; one sister: Karen Stelter of Mankato; two brothers: Mark Stelter of Kasota, David (Julie) Stelter of Mankato. Paul was a God Parent to Kymberly Stelter, and is also survived by six nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his father, and sister-in-law, Jone Stelter.
