Jordan L Kagermeier

Jordan L. Kagermeier, age 39, of Mankato, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at his residence.

A private service will be held for the immediate family. A public event will be held at a later date to celebrate Jordan's life. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Arrangements were handled by Mankato Mortuary.

Jordan was a surprise to Jim and Sandy Kagermeier on September 6, 1969. Raised on news and politics, gifted in words and expression, Jordan was a natural debater at Mankato East High School (Class of 1988), Governor at Boys State (1987), played youth hockey and was active in Scouts. He was a musician, an artist, and a life-long scholar whose interests included: rare books, Native American trade blankets, forensics (both debating and death), cats, and hockey. Jordan was married on October 18, 1996 to Jessica Dobbelmann who was willing to take on the challenge. His next greatest love was his daughter, Ruthie, who wrapped him around her little finger upon her arrival in Nov. 2003 and who enjoyed having her daddy as a stay-at-home dad during her early years. After attending Hamline and MSU Mankato, Jordan was the long time co-owner of Earthly Remains Antiques. He was in demand as an expert and co-hosted KMSQ-TV's Vintage Connections in 2007. Jordan collected friends, their stories, and their memories like shells on a beach to fill the curio cabinet of his mind, and was always willing to talk, & talk, & talk.

Jordan is survived by his wife, Jessica and their daughter, Ruth of Mankato; parents, James H. and Sandra of Mankato; brothers, Jeffry and Shari of Mankato and James and Kristin of North Mankato; niece, Olivia of Mankato and nephew, Martin of North Mankato.
