Sharon Emma Erickson, age 70, of Mankato, died Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2009 at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Andy Ritchie officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m., Sunday at Hosanna Lutheran Church and continues one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Sharon was born on May 18, 1939 in Mankato. She was the daughter of Harold and Vera (Menton) Phillips. Sharon was a graduate of St. Clair High School and Gustavus Adolphus College. She was united in marriage to Roger Hilgers on August 27, 1963. Sharon assisted Roger with their farm near Madison Lake. After Roger's death, she moved her family to Mankato where she worked at Year-A- Round Cab for a brief time. She later managed rental properties and had recently retired.

Sharon was a member of Hosanna Lutheran Church, the Red Hat Society, and previously a member of Sweet Adeline's. She enjoyed her time with friends by talking on the phone and going out to eat, keeping up with her flowers, and spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Parker.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Kim (Tim) Halldin of Cleveland; son, Craig Hilgers of Minneapolis; grandson, Parker Halldin of Cleveland; mother, Vera Phillips of Mankato; brother, Blaine (Renee) Phillips of St. Clair; nephews, Brad Phillips of Bloomington and Troy Phillips of St. Clair and his children Brenna and Noah; niece, Joleen Phillips of St. Clair and her son Cody.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold; and husband, Roger.
