Geraldine Rose "Jay" Nourie, age 78 of Mankato, died Saturday, June 20, 2009 at her home in Mankato.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato, with Rev. Don Rauscher officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary, with a 6:45 p.m. Prayer Service. Visitation continues one hour prior to service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association, SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, or the Schola Foundation.

Jay was born September 10, 1930 to William and Margaret (Trampart) Wenner in Mankato. She graduated from Good Counsel Academy in 1948. Jay was united in marriage to Dennis Nourie in Mankato on November 22, 1954. She was employed as a staffing secretary for Immanuel Saint Joseph's Hospital in Mankato for 26 years, and following retirement she volunteered there as well. Jay was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where she served on the Helping Hands committee. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Jay enjoyed playing cards, flowers, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Jay is survived by her husband Dennis; two sons, Mark (Dianne) Nourie of Lakeville, Dan (Ann) Nourie of Mankato; one daughter-in-law, Tami and her fianc", Terry Dobbelaere of Mankato; seven grandchildren, Jason, Adam, Jessica, Ryan, Leah, Matt, Haley; one great grandson, Sean Haws; one brother, Paul (Lorraine) Wenner of Sartell; one sister-in-law, Dee Wenner of Dallas, TX, also many nieces and nephews.

Jay was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jeff; one brother, Jim.
