William Fred Lahs

William Fred Lahs III, age 53, died June 13, 2009 at his Mankato residence.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2009 at Hosanna Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 12 noon. Following the burial at Calvary Cemetery, friends are invited to the Moose Lodge for a reception. Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangements.

William was born March 28, 1956 in Mobridge, SD to William and Arlene (Mickelson) Lahs. He attended Mankato West High School. He entered the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed gardening and cooking. William and his lifetime companion, Peggy Litchfield made their home in the Mankato area.

Survivors include his mother, Arlene Lahs; mother number two, Mary Litchfield; children, Chris Litchfield, Tammy (Mike) Hromadko; grandchildren, Krista and Brandon; brothers, Michael (Donna) Lahs, Patrick Lahs; two nephews; two nieces; uncle, Don Mickelson; cousins, Larry (Mary) Mickelson and Molly Mickelson; aunt, Chris Mickelson.

Preceded in death by his father, his lifetime companion, Peggy Litchfield, and his uncles, Robert Mickelson, Ed Lahs.

On Saturday, July 18, 2009 the family will be holding a Celebration of Life service at 4 p.m. at West Sibley, where camping options are available.
