Delbert Y Wilson

Delbert Yon Wilson, age 57, of North Mankato, formerly of Lake Crystal, died Monday, June 1, 2009 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the mortuary.

Delbert was born on February 11, 1952 in Mankato. He was the son of Daniel and Hazel (Dingler) Wilson. Delbert attended Mankato High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1974 to 1980. He was employed with Laird Sodding and Landscaping for eleven years before working at Kato Engineering in 1977. Delbert was a member of the North Mankato American Legion Post 518. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing darts, and softball.

Delbert is survived by his two daughters, Tina Wilson of North Mankato and Jean Wilson of Mankato; one son, Keith Wilson of Lake Crystal; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Betty (Bill) Holocker of Temple, TX, Barb Wilson of North Mankato, Peggy (Harold) Elder of Hutchinson, and Gloria (Rick) Denn of Mapleton; one brother, Daniel (Sue) Wilson of Mankato; very special friend, Jenny Pehrson of Mankato; also nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ernie.
