Vivian Ann Jones, age 86, of Lake Crystal, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Crystal with Rev. Randal Lubbers officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2009 at the Lake Crystal Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church, or an organization of the donor's choice.
Vivian was born September 1, 1922 to John Bun and Tryphena Mary (Pugh) Jones in Judson Township, Blue Earth County. Vivian graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1940 and Mankato Commercial College in 1942. She was employed by Mankato Commercial College as a secretary prior to her marriage on June 26, 1943 to Lloyd T. Jones at Jerusalem Presbyterian Church, Judson Township. Vivian was a former member of Jerusalem Presbyterian Church. She later became a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Crystal where she was involved with the church circle, Women's Association and was its treasurer, and was a past elder. She also volunteered at Grace Thrift Store, and was a past 4-H leader, member of the Lake Crystal Lioness Club, Salem Sunshine Club, and various other extension groups. She enjoyed sewing, baking, reading, spending time with her family, and playing cards.
Vivian is survived by six children, Dave (Jackie) Jones of rural Lake Crystal, Cindy (Don) Stansbery of Sheldon, ND, Dan (Pat) Jones of rural Lake Crystal, Mike Jones of Eden Prairie, Karen (Tony) Golden of Fairfield, PA, and Lori Jones of Lincoln, NE; twelve grandchildren, Eric Jones, Ryan (Malia) Jones, Adam (Mackenzie) Jones, Bill (Dana) Stansbery, Patrick (Charly) Stansbery, Anna Stansbery, Aaron Jones and fianc", Rachel Wede, Katie (Tony) Parsons, Kara (Jason) Pahl, Kelly Jones, John Jones, and Matthew Jones; four great-grandchildren, Mason, Leah, and Maya Jones, Nettie Parsons; two brothers, Harold (Rene") Jones of rural Lake Crystal and J. Hayden "Jack" (Caroline) Jones of Mankato; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Lloyd on February 15, 2009.
