Charles R Lind

Charles Richard Lind, age 67, of North Mankato, died unexpectedly on Monday, May 18, 2009 in Washington D.C.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Joel Erickson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Friday at Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Charles was born on December 17, 1941 in St. James. He was the son of W. Luverne and Marie (Nelson) Lind. Charles was a graduate of St. James High School and Mankato Technical College. He served in the U.S. National Guard. Charles was united in marriage to Sharon A. Hanson on May 14, 1966 at Kansas Lake Lutheran Church in rural Butterfield. He worked for Midtex and later was employed with EI Microcircuits for over twenty years. Charles was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato. He enjoyed record and stamp collecting, working with electronics, photography, and spending time with his grandchildren. Charles was proud that 25 years ago he helped implement the televising of Grace Lutheran services on the local public access station.

Charles is survived by his wife, Sharon Lind of North Mankato; son, Timothy Charles Lind of Mankato; daughter, Cindy (Dave) Kelley of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Anna, Mary, and Benjamin Kelley; brother, Wilmar (Ellen) Lind of Minot, ND; also nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
