Jeffrey Francis Haefner, age 57 of Mankato, died Saturday, February 9, 2013.

Private family services will be held at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary with Rev. Ted Hottinger S.J. officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato.

Jeff was born March 14, 1955 in Mankato to Harry and Donna (Koll) Haefner. Jeff was a 1973 graduate of Loyola High School in Mankato. He also attended Mankato Vo-Tech. Jeff was employed at KEYC Television as a News Director for many years.

Jeff was a ham radio operator with the call sign WZOJ and a member of MPR. He enjoyed camping, the boundary waters, the cabin on Duck Lake, and gardening.

Jeff is survived by his parents, Harry and Donna Haefner of Mankato; two brothers, Lee (Jane) Haefner of Ridgway, CO; Dana (Tracy) Haefner of Byron, MN; sister, Julie Ann Haefner of rural Mankato; seven nieces and nephews; special friend, Belinda Wilson of North Mankato; numerous, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.

Jeff will be remembered as a wonderful person and a fine human being.
