Joan (Reid) Simonett, age 82 of Mankato, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at N.C. Little Memorial Hospice in Edina, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 11 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Kunz officiating. A visitation will be Friday, January 25, 2013 at 4-6 P.M. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and will continue one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to a charity of the donor's choice, Loyola Catholic School, or N.C. Little Memorial Hospice, Edina, MN. Mankato Mortuary is entrusted with arrangements.

Joan was born on December 8, 1930 in Sedalia, MO to Joseph and Elizabeth (McEniry) Reid. She was united in marriage to Stanley Simonett on November 23, 1950 in Sedalia, MO. She was at peace and felt blessed to have lived a wonderful and full life. She knew how to laugh and have fun, which is a legacy she passed on to her eight children. Joan was an amazing and loving woman and will be deeply missed.

Joan is survived by her eight children, Reid (Kate) of Lees Summit, MO, Ted (Anne) of Vail, CO, Sally of Houston, TX, Steve of Vail, CO, David (Kristi) Fishers, IN, Jack (Leona) of Burnsville, MN, Jane (Lanny) of Burnsville, MN and Ann (Chris) of Eden Prairie, MN; twelve grandchildren, Michael, Jacqueline (Greg), Nathaniel, Benjamin, Elizabeth (Michael), Kyle, Joseph, Meghan, Samuel, Jonathan, Daniel, and Lucy; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Wyatt; sister, Mary Eustermann; and four nieces and nephews, Elizabeth, Eric, Brian, and Lisa.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley in 1990; her parents; sister, Elizabeth Wade; brother-in-laws, Dr. John Eustermann and Richard Wade.
