Margaret Elizabeth Williams Carr, age 93, lifelong resident of Blue Earth County, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 21, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. Randal Lubbers, officiating. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m., Sunday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at the church on Monday. Burial will be in Minneopa Cemetery, rural Mankato. Memorials may be given to VINE, Echo Food Shelf, or the Salvation Army.

Margaret Elizabeth was born May 21, 1919 in South Bend Township, Blue Earth County to Daniel and Mabel (Hughes) Williams. She graduated from Mankato College High School in 1938 and later Mankato Commercial College. Margaret was united in marriage to D. Irwin Williams on October 26, 1940 in Mankato. Irwin died on September 23, 1987. Margaret then married Marian Carr in 1989. Marian died in 2003. Margaret worked at Midwest Electric and Crysteel as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal where she was active as an Elder, church choir, a soloist, Sunday School Teacher, member of the Rachel Circle, and Women's Association. Margaret was also an active member of the Lake Crystal Study and Garden Club, Evans Post - Cambria American Legion Auxiliary, St. David's and Minnesota Welsh Gymanfa Ganu Society, and the Blue Earth County Historical Society. Margaret enjoyed music, bible study, genealogy, friends, but at the center of her life was the love she had for her family.

Margaret is survived by her three children, Robert (Anne) Williams of Vernon Center, Tom (Carol) Williams of Scottsdale, AZ, Jennifer Williams of Petaluma, California; four grandchildren, Emily (Kurt) Johnson, Ben (Amy) Williams, Ted (Lacey) Williams, and Dylan Williams; five great-grandchildren, Claire, Evelyn, Adler, and Emma Johnson, Braylah Williams; three step-children, Martha (Robert) Anderson, Thomas (Elizabeth) Carr, Paul (Jackie) Carr; six step-grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson, Eric Anderson, Dana (Becky) Anderson, Matthew Carr, Bethany Carr, and Sophie Carr; two step-great grandchildren, Mikayla and Katelyn Anderson; brother, Howard (Loris) Williams of Brainerd; nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Margaret was preceded in death by her two husbands, Irwin and Marian; son, David on April 4, 1968; and a brother, Roger (Lorraine) Williams.
