Myra A. (Tate) Stofferahn, age 87, of Eagle Lake, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Mankato, Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the funeral service at church. Myra will be laid to rest in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society or Blue Earth Nicollet County Humane Society. Mankato Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
Myra Adele was born February 22, 1925 to Harvey and Effie (Borth) Tate in Ortonville, MN. She was a graduate of Mankato High School. Myra was united in marriage to Harold Stofferahn on March 24, 1946 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was employed at the Pentagon during WWII for a year before she was married. After she began her life with Harold, she was a homemaker and was employed at Goranson's and Worell's grocery stores. Myra was a member of Eagle Lake American Legion Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, painting, and playing cards.
Myra is survived by her children, Harold (Beverly), Brad (Peggy), Nancy (Bill) Mattes, Lon (Helen), Dawn (Tom) Herz, and Ann (Brett) Hanson; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty Dale, Gordon (Joanne) Tate, Carol Lucier; her puppy, Peanut; and many nieces and nephews.
Myra was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Sr.; two grandchildren; siblings, Delores, Lano, and Robert; and her parents.
