Richard "Rick" C. Diesch, age 55, of Madelia, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013 with his family by his side at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia following a lengthy illness.

A memorial service honoring Rick's life will be held at a later date. Memorials preferred to Calvary Lutheran Church, Rapidan, MN or an organization of the donor's choice.

Rick was born July 2, 1957 to Richard and Joan (Hunt) Diesch in Mankato. He graduated from Welcome Memorial High School, Garden City in 1976 and enlisted in the United States Navy. While serving his country he visited many areas including Australia, Japan, Korea, Philippine Islands, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Tahiti and Guam. In 1979, Rick suffered a severe motorcycle injury. He was confirmed and a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Rapidan. Rick enjoyed fishing, football, horseback riding and the numerous pets around the farm.

Rick is survived by his mother, Joan Diesch of Mankato; siblings: James and Kathy Diesch of Seattle, WA, Robin and Chris deCathelineau of Spicer, MN, Robert and Carla Diesch of Mankato, and Jody and Bill Keller of Broadway, VA; and also extended family.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, Dick in 1993.
