Helen Ann Wrucke, age 93, of Good Thunder died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Mapleton Community Home.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Rapidan. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rapidan. Mankato Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements. Memorials may be given to Calvary Cemetery, Rapidan.
Helen was born August 22, 1919 to Hjalmer and Anne (Lee) Hoff in Rapidan Township, Blue Earth County. She graduated from Mankato Teachers College High School and later from Mankato Commercial College. She was united in marriage to Harold Flo in August of 1941 in Mankato. Following Harold's return from World War II they lived in Rapidan, running the Flo Brother's Lumber Yard and raised their daughter and son. After Harold died in July of 1970, Helen married Ervin "Jack" Wrucke on January 3, 1976 at Calvary Lutheran in Rapidan. They were married for 37 years
and lived on Jack's farm, and then a home they built in Good Thunder. Helen was a lifelong member of Calvary Lutheran Church of Rapidan and held several offices in the church. She loved to travel and together, she and Jack visited many parts of the U.S., traveled to Europe, Alaska, and spent many winters in Texas.
Helen is survived by her husband, Jack; children, Barbara Flo (John Paquette) of Stillwater, Steven Flo (Alice) of Winona; step-children, Wayne Wrucke (Ann) of Hutchinson, Mark Wrucke (Pat) of Farmington, Joyce Ioerger (Lafe) of Delevan, Connie Schulz (Tom) of Mankato; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gertrude DeRemer of North Mankato and Joan Mattson of Michigan; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Helen was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold; sister, Margaret Maine; two brothers-in-law, Glen DeRemer and Harold Maine.
