Emmy (she preferred that name to her given name of Emma), was born February 17, 1931 to Floy A. and Stephen Floyd Davis of rural Mankato. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1949 and married Bud Holm that same year. After many years in Mankato, the couple left Minnesota in 1964 and moved to Northbrook, Il. where they raised their children and spent the rest of their lives. The couple's oldest child, Larry (Vicki), returned to live n Mankato some years ago. Their daughter Linda (Paul Weichsel), their son Randy (Cindy), and their son Bruce (Diane) all live in Illinois. Their son Rick (Pat) lives in North Carolina.

Emmy spent many years working in the food industry, and after she moved to Illinois developed a keen interest in " and eye for " antiques. She ultimately turned that interest into a small business.

In her private life, she often attended to others' needs before her own and was loved and admired by many for her talents and gifts, strength of character, and generous nature. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Those who wish to express condolences to Emmy's family will be able to do so at Mankato Mortuary from 1:00 to 3:00 before the service begins.

Because Emmy fed so many people so often and so well, her children felt that she would be best honored by memorial contributions to the Northfield Township Food Pantry, 3801 W. Lake Ave., Glenview, IL 60026.
