Martin J. Beil, age 72, of Mapleton, died on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at his home.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 30 at 11:00 a.m. at North Mankato Mortuary-NORTHVIEW with Rev. Jacek Soroka officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Martin was born on December 26, 1938 in French Camp, CA to Frank and Doris (Wick) Beil. On May 15, 1957 Martin was united in marriage to Laura Watts in Mankato. He worked in construction for many years and was a member of the AFLCIO Labor Union. In his younger years, Martin enjoyed many outdoor activities including softball and golfing. Martin also enjoyed playing his guitar, riding motorcycle, and weight lifting. He loved driving Cadillac's and recreational vehicles. Martin and Laura loved living in the country.

He is survived by his wife, Laura of Mapleton; daughter, Laurie (Tom) Greeninger of North Branch, MN; son, Marty (Stacey) Beil of Mankato; grandchildren, Dawn (Matt) Braa of Chaska, Lucas Dimmel of Waseca, and Nathan and Logan Beil, both of Mankato; two sisters, Fran Dornack of Mankato and Mary (Tom) Hendricks of North Mankato; brother, Rick Beil of Mapleton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Beverly Ahl.
