Andrea Dawn Butcher, age 28 of North Mankato, died Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Mayo Health Clinic, Mankato.

Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2011 at North Mankato Mortuary NORTHVIEW in North Mankato. Visitation will continue at 1:00 p.m., Monday at the church. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 at Messiah Lutheran Church in North Mankato. Memorials are preferred to the MS Society.

Andrea was born February 18, 1983 in Mankato to Bruce and Carla (Gaiser) Butcher. She attended and graduated from Mankato West High School, where she had been active in the Women's High School Choir and had been involved with the Girl Scouts. After high school, she attended Ridgewater College-Willmar for Occupational Life Skills. She worked at MRCI and because of her love for animals she volunteered at the Humane Society. Andrea enjoyed camping, bicycling, listening to music, watching movies, and actively participating in the MS Walks. A real sweetheart of a girl and always full of smiles, Andrea loved spending time with her family and playing games with them.

She is survived by her parents, Bruce and Carla of North Mankato; two brothers, Aaron Butcher and his wife, Jessica and their children, Antigone and Jaya all of South St. Paul, Adam Butcher of St. Paul; maternal grandfather, Wayne Gaiser of Mankato, formerly of Fairmont; paternal grandmother, Zella Butcher of New Hope; three uncles, two aunts, many cousins, friends, and a favorite feline friend, Calypso.

Andrea was preceded in death by an infant brother, Nicholas; maternal grandmother, Delores Gaiser; and paternal grandfather, Leland Butcher.
