Geneva Virginia Garver, age 85, of Mankato, MN died Monday, July 18, 2011 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato following a brief illness.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2011 at North Mankato Mortuary " NORTHVIEW in North Mankato, MN. The family will receive visitors 1 hour before the service. Private burial will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.

Geneva was born and raised in Missouri. She was united in marriage with Marvin R. Garver on July 20, 1946 and in 1951, moved to Denver, Colorado where she resided until 2004. She was a long time member of Wellshire Presbyterian Church in Denver, and a member of the AI Chapter of PEO. She enjoyed playing golf, dancing, and extensive traveling with her husband until his death in 2002. She also dearly loved and enjoyed spending time with her family and especially with her grandchildren who called her GG.

Geneva is survived by daughters, Janet (Jim) Hughart of Houston, TX, Becki (Gary) Stranik of Mankato; grandchildren, Matt (Karen) Hughart, Scott Hughart, Ashley (Tyler) Benson, Brittany Stranik; great grandchildren, Molly, Brendan, Addisyn, and Celeste.

Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin and grandson, Christopher Stranik.

Memorials are preferred to Mankato Health Care Foundation or Wellshire Presbyterian Church.
