Lucille A Mueller

Lucille Mueller, age 83 of North Mankato, went peacefully with the Lord Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Oak Terrace in North Mankato after a short battle with cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2011 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Mankato, with Fr. Peter Nosbush officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Lucille Alice Mueller was born June 27, 1928 to William and Alvina (Gronholz) Brinkmann in New Ulm, MN. She attended New Ulm Schools and worked at the New Ulm Hospital before marrying Herbert Mueller on June 6, 1946. They lived in the New Ulm and Mankato area, where they raised their 6 children. Lucille worked for many years at St. Joseph's Hospital (Mayo Clinic Health System) in Mankato as a cook. Lucille worked for 10 years at the Lutheran Home (Pathstone) as a Nurses' Aid before her retirement. During her retirement years Lucille spent much of her time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lucille took life with great stride and ease, and having her grandchildren and great-grandchildren around gave her the flexibility to change with the times. Lucille also enjoyed visiting with friends and relatives.

Lucille is survived by her 3 sons, Roger (Mary) of North Mankato, Gene (Carol) of Alexandria, MN, Gary, of Elysian, MN; 2 daughters, Susan (Dennis) Foster of Pelican Rapids, MN, Peggy Mueller of Mankato; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, William (Tiny); sister, Lois Hoffroggee of New Ulm.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert in May 1969; daughter, JoAnn Yokiel in January 2000; infant grandson, Brian Mueller; her parents, William and Alvina Brinkmann; stepmother, Lorna Brinkmann; sister, Lorene Starke; and her brother, Harold Brinkmann.
