Miranda Sohre, age 91 of Mankato, formerly of Good Thunder, died Friday, July 1, 2011 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Good Thunder, with Rev. Rudolph Maurer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Good Thunder. Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Miranda Marion Sohre was born February 20, 1920 in Douglas County, Alexandria Township to August and Alma (Doering) Sohre. She was baptized on March 7, 1920 in Alexandria, MN. She moved to Good Thunder when her father died in October of 1927. She attended the St. John's Lutheran School in Good Thunder. Miranda went to help older people at a young age. She was confirmed at St. John's on March 25, 1934 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church. She worked at Automatic Electric and Midtex for 40 years. She was a Ladies Aid member at St. John's Lutheran Church.

Miranda is survived by her sister, Alma Born; nieces and nephews, Carolyn and Al Eschmann, Dianne Born, Beverly Robinson, Pam and John Mattke, Bob and Cleo Malenburg, Richard Dick; and many grand nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Ervin, August, and Clarence; sister, Mildred (Claus) Dick; nephews, Gary Born and Greg Robinson; niece, Barbara Moore; sister-in-law, Orma Sohre and her daughter Jennifer; brother-in-law, Raymond Born.
