Craig D. Black, age 57 of Mankato, died Friday, June 24, 2011 at his home in Mankato.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at North Mankato Mortuary - NORTHVIEW, North Mankato. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday June 27, 2011 at Northview and continue one hour prior to service on Tuesday. Burial will be in Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery in Montevideo.
Craig was born April 3, 1954 to Donald and Doris (Hanson) Black in Montevideo, MN. He graduated from Mankato High School and attended two years of Vocational Technical College. He worked at Lindsay Windows since 2002. Craig enjoyed fishing, hunting, bingo and most of all music. He played in many different bands including: Mim Hokenson and All That Jazz, City Mouse, Hitz, Blues Other Brothers, Delivery Boys, Tune, The Fabulous Full Range Band and The Lonnie Knight Band. Craig also did sound and lights production for many other bands including: Sha Na Na, Snowy River, Special Delivery, CG Union and Midway.
Craig is survived by his step-mother, Marcella Black; half brothers, Steven (Jeri) Pomerenke of Killeen, TX; Ross (Marilyn) Pomerenke of Plymouth; half sisters, Joleen (James) Edwards of St. Clair; Wendy (Scott) James of Mankato.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, two uncles and two aunts.
