Erna Irene Rudolf, age 95 of Mankato and formerly of Marshall, died Friday, June 24, 2011 at Oaklawn Health Care in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2011 at North Mankato Mortuary " NORTHVIEW with Rev. Patrick Patterson officiating. Interment service will be in the Marshall Cemetery in Marshall, Minnesota at 3:00 p.m. Friday. Visitation will be held one hour before the service on Friday at NORTHVIEW.

Erna was born May 10, 1916 to Jacob and Pauline (Ketterling) Weisz in Lehr, North Dakota.

Erna is survived by her two sons, Ron (Sondra) Rudolf of Fort Collins, CO, Gary (Denise) Rudolf of Mankato; five grandchildren, Shawnda (Jim) Schwindt, Rodd Rudolf, Garrick (Julie) Rudolf, Jerod Rudolf (friend,Holly), Spencer Rudolf; great-grandchildren, Josiah Schwindt, Caleb Schwindt, Mikayla, Anna, and Kaitlyn Rudolf; two brothers, Leo (Marlene) Weisz of Yorktown, Virginia and Delmer (Wanda) Weisz of Kansas City, MO; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Adam and 9 brothers and sisters.

She was united in marriage to Adam Rudolf on June 2, 1940 in Lehr, ND and made their home on the farm near Ellendale, ND for 50+ years. Erna was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ellendale and donated countless hours, hot dishes and Kuchen pies to the church's many activities. Erna will best be remembered as someone who was always giving of herself and her time, never expecting anything in return. She never lost sight of the importance of faith and family. She spent her life dedicated to her husband Adam, her children and their families. She loved to sew and to stay busy making things with her hands. Her children and grand- children all agree that she made the best chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles in the whole world. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
