Orlean D. Burger, age 70 of North Mankato, died Friday, June 3, 2011 at North Point Assisted Living, North Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Mankato. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday June 10, 2011 at North Mankato Mortuary - NORTHVIEW and continue one hour prior to service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Minneopa Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to VINE.

Orlean was born December 7, 1940 to Fredrick Ernest and Elsie Louise (Hoffman) Marth in St. James, MN. She graduated from St. James High School and also from the secretarial program at the Technical College in Jackson, MN. Orlean worked for different places including Sioux Engineering, Answer 24 and the Johnson Law office. She was a member at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Orlean volunteered at VINE Faith in Action, where she was as a driver, making meals and cleaning for people, and was a receptionist in the office. She truly enjoyed helping people in the community. Orlean enjoyed music (especially her guitar), cooking, playing cards, gardening, and going to thrift stores and garage sales.

Orlean is survived by her children, Diane Carlson of Otsego, MN; Rick Carlson of Cosmos, MN; Randy Carlson of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Becky (Shawn) Haberman of Mankato; step-daughters, Rachel (Charles) Blanchardt of Rapid City, SD; Diane Smith of Mankato, MN; Jan Reker of Hayward, WI; Carol (Randy) Stevens of Faribault, MN; sister, Carol (William) Fast of Butterfield, MN and many other loving family and friends.

Orlean was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Burger; parents, Fredrick and Elsie; sisters and brothers, Wayne, Nancy, Gloria, Richard, Janelle; step-son, Michael Burger.
