Earl O. Ruch, age 89, of Lake Crystal died Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the Mapleton Community Home.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at North Mankato Mortuary-Northview with Rev. Clint Patterson, officiating. Burial will be in Jerusalem Cemetery, rural Lake Crystal. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Monday at North Mankato Mortuary - Northview and will continue one hour before service on Tuesday.
Earl was born September 7, 1921 to Frank and Leva (Calentine) Ruch in Nevada, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Loris E. Jones on October 1, 1939 in Estherville, IA. Earl farmed in the Lake Crystal area most of his life. He enjoyed gardening, mowing, hunting, trapping, baseball, playing checkers and cards, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Earl is survived by four sons, Everett (Linda) Ruch of Fairmont, Tim (Gwen) Ruch of Mankato, Jon (Ann) Ruch of Garden City, Dean Ruch of Lake Crystal; three daughters, Kathleen Helder of Lake Lillian, Luayn Murphy of Green Isle, Noreen (Don) Wolf of Mankato; daughter-in-law, Cora Ruch of Cotati, CA; twenty one grandchildren, Jessica Sweet, Joey (Barbara) Ruch, Lisa Ruch, David (Darcy) Helder, William (Jodi) Helder, Jesse Helder and special friend, Trisha Daschner, Brenda (Mike) Sperbeck, Jennifer (Karl) Brandel, Angela (Jason) Borglum, Michael Murphy, Gabriel Murphy, Chad (Lori) Ruch, Michael Ruch and special friend, Katie Johnson, Nathan (Candy) Ruch, Amie Ruch and special friend, Adam Reichel, Travis Finlayson and fianc", Heather Connelly, Madelyn Wolf, Daniel, Amanda, and Kiana Ruch; nineteen great-grandchildren, Alison, Kelsey, Massina, Brielle, Jesson, Joseph Jr., Summer, Isabelle, Noah, Adam, Katherine, Alexander, Nicholas, Dylan, Austin, Weston, Elizabeth, Tanner, Cloey; sister, Frances (Stan) Lyons of Cleveland; many nieces and nephews.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Loris on October 1, 2000; four sons, David Ruch, James Ruch, and two infant sons in 1941 and 1943; five brothers, Orrie, Pete, Paul, Merle, and Jack; two sisters, Lila and Mildred; son-in-law, Edward Helder; two grandchildren, Erin and Darren.
