Linver W. Kopischke, age 81, of Mankato, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Hillcrest Health Care Center.
A Celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Jack Dahl officiating. A private family burial service will be held at another time. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Following the service, friends are invited to stay at the church to greet the family for refreshments. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Mayo Clinic Health System Mankato Hospice Department, or to the donor's choice. Mankato Mortuary assisted the family.
Linver was born in Good Thunder to Edward and Olga (Ulrich) Kopischke on October 15, 1929. He attended the Lutheran School in Good Thunder and the Technical School in Mankato. Linver joined the U.S. Army in 1951 and was honorably discharged as a sergeant. Linver was united in marriage to Darla Schulz on August 31, 1952. They were married for 58 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, and reading.
Linver is survived by his wife, Darla Kopischke of Mankato; son, Mark (Lori) Kopischke of Eagle Lake; daughter, Kristi (Larry) Schulze of Madison Lake; four grandchildren, Taran, Trisa (Nick), Ben, and Coty; two greatgrandchildren, Braydon and Kendyl. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
