Paul Johnson, age 85 of Lake Crystal, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Lake Crystal Mortuary assisted the family.

Paul Howard Johnson was born January 14, 1926 to Herbert and Effie (Swanson) Johnson in Lake Crystal, MN. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. On July 18, 1948, he married Arlene Gerland. Paul worked for H.C. Johnson Motor, Midwest Realty, J & Z Realty, and Lake Crystal Towers. At the age of 80 he started a new business, ESP Products. He was a member of the Lake Crystal American Legion Post 294. Some of his hobbies included playing cards with his friends, fishing, fishing, and fishing.

Paul is survived by his wife, Arlene of Lake Crystal; daughter, Linda Young of Chanhassen, MN; 2 sons, Bruce Johnson of Boyd, WI, Scott Johnson and longtime partner, Sheria Lewis of Lake Crystal; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Doug (Joyce) Johnson; and sister-in-law, Margaret Johnson.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Herbert Johnson; and best buddy, Gus Johnson.
