Gerald Ernest Frederick and Lorraine Agnes Frederick, age 83 and age 82, of Madison Lake, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 as the result of an auto accident.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2011 at All Saints Catholic Church, Madison Lake with Rev. Robert Schneider, officiating. Burial will be in All Saints Calvary Cemetery, Madison Lake. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Friday at North Mankato Mortuary " Northview and will continue from 9-11 a.m., at church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to MRCI or All Saints Catholic Church.

Gerald was born September 29, 1927 to William Henry and Wanda (Polaczyk) Frederick in Mankato. He grew up on the family farm near Madison Lake. He attended All Saints School in Madison Lake. He served his country with the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan as a military policeman. He was united in marriage to Lorraine A. Goettl on May 3, 1950 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato. Gerald worked with his father and later his children farming and sold Pioneer Seed Corn and McNess Feed for many years. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and the church choir, German Club, Catholic Order of Foresters-All Saints Court #749, and president of the Madison Lake Historical Society. He received the Bishop's Medal of Lifetime Service. He was a reluctant gardener, and enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching wrestling, and playing cards.

Lorraine was born May 5, 1929 to Lewis Paul and Marie Magdalen (Hartung) Goettl in LeRay Township, Blue Earth County. She grew up on the family farm, east of Mankato and attended SS. Peter and Paul grade school and Loyola High School. She was united in marriage to Gerald E. Frederick on May 3, 1950 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, and its St. Anne's Circle, a Eucharistic Minister, member of Christian Mothers, Catholic Aid, Catholic Order of Foresters-All Saints Court#749, German Club, Madison Lake Historical Society, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Red Hat Society. She received the Bishop's Medal of Lifetime Service. She enjoyed dancing, vegetable and flower gardening, cooking, playing cards, and spending time with family.

They are survived by four sons; Joe (Cynthia) Frederick of Mankato, Stephen (Deborah) Frederick of Madison Lake, Randy Frederick and fianc", Faith Shandy of North Mankato, Michael Frederick of Madison Lake; four daughters, Irene (Bob) Allen of Mankato, Marlene Frederick of Madison Lake, Joyce (Roger) Gersch of Mankato, Sharon (Gary) Baumgard of Vernon Center; thirteen grandchildren, Christy (Kris) Lewis, Rhea Frederick and fianc", Daniel Cummings, Joe (Jody) Frederick Jr., Joshua Frederick, Heather (Jay) Larson, Lee Young, Jason (Shelly) Young, Patricia Young, Mindy (Dan) St. Dennis, Justin Baumgard, Amy Baumgard, Nic Kehe and fianc", Nicole Ferguson, Lisa Kehe; eleven great-grandchildren, Morgan and Ava Frederick, Tyler and Tyna Larson, Jaida and Cade Lewis, McKenzie Young, Jayton and Jacey Frederick, Alex and Brycen St. Dennis, Sophiea Kehe.

Gerald's family - four brothers, Marcel "Sal" Frederick of Mankato, Edward (Shirley) Frederick of Waseca, Tom (Carol) Frederick of Mankato; Bill (Sandy) Frederick of Florida; two sisters, Patricia (Jim) Matejcek of Mankato and Helen Rachut of North Mankato; sister-in-law, Anne Frederick of North Mankato; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Nicholas and Robert Frederick; brother-in-law, Don Rachut; sister-in-law, Rose Frederick.

Lorraine's family - six brothers, Julian Goettl, of Mankato, Cletus (Elaine) Goettl of Lake Crystal, Wilfred (LaVonne) Goettl, Roger (Sandra) Goettl all of LeCenter, Louis (Donna) Goettl of Eagle Lake, Richard (Phyllis) Goettl of Burnsville; two sisters, Adeline Sieberg of Eagle Lake and Mary Lou (Marlyn) Denn of Waseca; brother-in-law, Francis Sweiger of Cleveland; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bernard Goettl; sister, Elaine Sweiger; two sisters-in-law, Mary Goettl and Deloris Goettl; brother-in-law, Curtis Sieberg.
