Gloria G Griffin

Gloria Grace Griffin, age 37, of Mankato died Friday, July 27, 2007 at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato after a courageous battle against ovarian cancer.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Mankato with Rev. Paul Lauer officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before the service at church on Tuesday.

Gloria was born January 25, 1970 to Duane E. and Smila D. (Seltenreich) Griffin in Mankato. She graduated from Mankato East High School in 1988. She graduated from Minnesota State University Mankato, with a BS degree in Family Life and Child Development. She was employed for 19 years at Hy-Vee Food Store as a scanning coordinator and was also at Little Stars as an assistant teacher. Gloria was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, and a leader of the 4-H Jr. Olympics Shooting Sports. She enjoyed spending time at the lake with family, fishing, spending time with her nieces and nephew, doing crafts, reading, baking pies, and making her secret recipe for banana bread.

Gloria is survived by her mother, Smila Griffin; two brothers, Gary Griffin and wife, Marie, Dale Griffin all of Mankato; sister, Colleen Haley and husband, Thomas of Waseca; two nieces and a nephew, Cory, Caitlin, and Daniel Griffin; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Gloria was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father.
