Dennis Carl Hinrichs, age 62, of rural Mankato, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. Monte Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Saturday.
Dennis was born on October 16, 1944 in Mankato to Otto and Emma (Carl) Hinrichs. He attended Truman High School. He was united in marriage to Barbara Brown on December 12, 1980 at his parent's home in Lake Crystal. Dennis was employed with the Bay Area Rapid Transit, building underground tunnels in San Francisco. While he was there he became the youngest foreman in California History. After leaving California, Dennis was self employed as a general contractor for Dennis Hinrichs Construction and then also became the co-owner of Earth Shelter Technology. Dennis was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal. He enjoyed working and hunting as well as being a mentor to many people.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Barbara of rural Mankato; four children, Scott (Victoria) Hinrichs of Greenville, IN, Troy (Tami) Hinirichs of Windom, Carrie Hinrichs of Good Thunder, Jessica Mikkelson and special friend Pat Garlow of rural Mankato; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three siblings, David Hinrichs of Portland, OR, Carrol (Dan) Ryerson of Moloki, HI, Kathryn (Brad) Nelson of Lake Crystal; mother-in-law, Teresa Brown of Lake Crystal; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters-in-law, Irene Wenner, and Terry Hinrichs; and his father-in-law, Vernon Brown.
