Caroline Louise Gilbert, age 67, of North Mankato died Saturday, July 7, 2007 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Mankato Mortuary with Rev. Jerry David officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the mortuary on Saturday.
Caroline was born December 7, 1939 to Ovie J. and Delphia M. (Miller) Hylton in Ava, Missouri. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1956. Caroline worked as a keypunch operator, welder, owned and operated the Eldora Hotel, Eldora, IA and was a pawnbroker for the past 20 years. She enjoyed flower gardening, antique collecting, and spending time with her family.
Caroline is survived by her husband, Ronald Wenthe of North Mankato; daughter, Cynthia Gilbert of North Mankato; daughter-in-law, Theresa Stogdill of St. Peter; brother, Robert (Roberta) Hylton of Dawson, GA; five grandchildren, Honey (Mike) Miller of Mankato, Travis Stogdill of St. Peter, Deni Schlemmer of Mankato, Sarah Schwarck of North Mankato, Aaron (Kristin) Schwarck of Judson; five great-grandchildren, Logan and Jaden Miller, Dayton Schwarck, Wyatte Kelly, Tori Senne; sixteen nieces and nephews.
Caroline was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rodney; two sisters, Phyllis Townsend, Shirley Case; nephew, Robbie Hylton.
